CRAFT FAIR HELD AT WIXON SCHOOL

Because of the success of the Dennis Summerfest Craft Fair at the Nathaniel H. Wixon Middle School, 901 Route 134, South Dennis, it will be held there again in 2013.

The Root Beer Races will be held at Wixon at 1PM, and will be open the children.

The Antique Cars will be displayed at Wixon from Approx. 1-3 PM.

A band will be playing their favorite tunes.

Refreshments available. Krista K’s Ice Cream will be there again this year.

Fireworks & Antique Car Motorcade

There will be fireworks in Dennis during the Dennis Summerfest, August 17, 2013. (The rain date will be August 18.) From West Dennis Beach.

Also, the proud owners of pre-1976 vehicles, will be parading the streets of Dennis on August 18, 2013 for the 55th ANTIQUE CAR MOTORCADE. Yes, the Dennis Small Business Association is now hosting the longest running, antique car parade in Dennis. Ending at Nathaniel H. Wixon Middle School, Rte 134, South Dennis.

New Business in West Dennis

Have you noticed things humming around the curve in West Dennis?? It’s the NEW Hummingbird Nursery on Route 28!!

On Mondays they will host a Farmer’s Market, and on Tuesdays there will be an Artisan Fair at the nursery.

Stop by and say Hi to the new owners and check out all the latest flowers, shrubs, etc. You will be pleasantly surprised that their prices are very competitive and they have a good variety.

If there is something you don’t see, just ask, and chances are they will be able to order it for you.

FAMILY NIGHT OUT with FIREWORKS

SATURDAY AUG. 17TH – FAMILY NIGHT OUT – FIREWORKS. This event takes place on West Dennis Beach. There will be a bonfire (ceremonial burn), marshmallow toasting.

We will have a short ceremony to honor our men and women in the armed forces, serving overseas as well as in the states, sponsored by the Cape Cod Amvets. 6:30-6:45

At dusk, a spectacular FIREWORKS display will take place, put on by ATLAS PyroVisions Productions of NH.

A shuttle bus will be available at the West Dennis Graded Schoolhouse on School Street and will be taking people to and from the Fireworks from 4:30 on. Provided by First Student Inc.

Sun., 8/18—54th ANTIQUE CAR MOTORCADE and DISPLAY, Starts at West Dennis Beach at 12 Noon, travels through Dennisport, back Upper County Rd., crossing Rte. 134, to Liberty Hall, then right on Old Main St. to Old Chatham Rd. to Route 134 and into the Nathaniel H. Wixon Middle School in South Dennis where cars will be on display (approx. 1-3PM). (Pre-register cars with Penny Bach, Motorcade Chairman, 508-760-4524, and receive a Beach Pass)

Sun., 8/11—Sand Sculpture Contest, 6:30-10 AM, Mayflower Beach, Dennis. Rise early to stake out your spot & get your sculpture created. Prizes awarded as tide comes in. (This is the weekend before because of the TIDE.)

ANTIQUE CAR MOTORCADE

The 55th ANTIQUE CAR MOTORCADE will start at the West Dennis Beach at 12:00 Noon. It will travel out of the beach and onto Lower County Road, turns onto Old Wharf Road, to Chase Avenue, to Belmont, to Rt. 28, to Telegraph Rd., to Upper County Rd., across Rt. 134, past Liberty Hall, right onto Main St., bear left onto Old Bass River Rd., turn right onto Old Chatham Road, turn left onto Route 134, enter into the Nathaniel H. Wixon Middle School.

The cars should arrive at the school approx. 1:00 PM and will be on display until 3:00 PM.

ARTS AND CRAFT FAIR 10:00 AM TO 4:00 PM. There will be food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, and children’s activities.
